Victorian Women's Health Services Network Conference 2025: A Watershed Moment for Gender Equality and Women's Health
The 2025 Victorian Women's Health Services Network Conference, held on February 13 at Melbourne Town Hall, marked a defining moment in our collective mission to advance gender equality and transform women's health outcomes across Victoria. This gathering of sector leaders, practitioners, and advocates demonstrated both the urgency of our work and the extraordinary resilience of our sector in driving systemic change.

Taking Action: Scaling Up Prevention of Violence Against Women with Disabilities Across Victoria
The Victorian Women's Health Service Network (WHSN) is calling for state-wide expansion of a proven program that prevents violence against women with disabilities. With compelling evidence of success and a clear path forward, we are advocating for investment in the 2025-26 Victorian state budget to scale up the Margins to Mainstream (M2M) program across Victoria.

Grave Concern Over Funding Cut to Women with Disabilities Victoria expressed by WHSN
The Victorian Women's Health Services Network, representing women's health organisations across the state, express deep concern and despair over the Federal Government's decision to not continue crucial grant funding for Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) for the Information Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program.
This outcome will have a devastating impact on the vital work WDV does to support and advocate for women and non-binary people with disabilities in Victoria and will significantly hinder progress towards achieving intersectional equity in the State.

Support to Federal Inquiry and Expert Panel Rapid Review on Preventing Violence Against Women
The Women’s Health Services across Victoria, committed to ending violence against women, welcome the announcement of a Federal Inquiry and Expert Panel Rapid Review which we understand from reports, will investigate “how to best prevent violence against women”. Family Violence in our Community at this time - a statement from the WHSN
Right now – at this moment, in Victoria – there is a community hurting because women are being killed by those who say that they care for women.
The pain faced by so many in the community of Ballarat is beyond compare, especially for the family and friends of Hannah McGuire, Rebecca Young and Samantha Murphy.
And as those of us who work to stop the perpetration of violence against women know, it is not just this community. It is all communities across Victoria. And it is not just now, but so often and for so long.

Gender Equality is at a crossroad on IWD 2024 - a statement from the WHSN
Since the commencement of our work over 30 years ago the Victorian Women’s Health Services have striven to address the barriers to intersectional inequity that prevent women from having the power and freedom to make choices and be emancipated to achieve their full potential.
Yes, in 2024 there is still work to be done.
